Open position, Executive Director – Logan County, Greater Sterling Area Chamber of Commerce.
Current membership is 240+ and growing! Population of Sterling is 14,421 and Logan County is 22,282
While the Chamber Office is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The Executive Director’s schedule
can vary based on meetings and events held throughout the region. This is a fast paced, highly visible office.
General Expectations:
The Executive Director reports directly to the Chamber Board of Directors and works with the Executive Board to
implement annual projects and events. The Executive Director is responsible for implementing the organization’s
Strategic Plan through the engagement with the Chamber Board and other community leaders. The Executive Director is
expected to be responsive, accountable, honest, caring and committed to engage with integrity and fairness. It is
expected that the Executive Director will present a professional and positive image to members and to the greater
community through appropriate appearance, demeanor, and oral and written communication. Specific areas of
responsibility include:
• Executive leadership and support of Chamber and the Chamber Board of Directors
• Supporting positive member relations including the provision of timely written and electronic communication
• Acting as a community liaison at Chamber programs, events, and activities
• Serving on Community Boards as requested with professionalism and a positive image
• Overseeing the maintenance of the Chamber website and Chamber Social Media that is accurate and timely
• Providing a weekly electronic Newsletter and maintaining a community Calendar
Salary is based on qualifications and experience, $45,000 - $55,000
Minimum Qualifications:
Education – successful completion of training programs that prepare individuals for executive leadership roles.
Experience –
• Successful work as an office manager and/or team leader
• Successful work with team management
• Successful work with volunteers and event planning
• Successful work with office tools such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Web Ex, Zoom, Canva etc.
• Successful engagement with Social Media tools such as web sites, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube,
WordPress, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education – Completion of Higher Education programs that prepare an individual for Organizational Leadership.
• Work in a leadership role with another non-profit or community-based organization
• Successful grant-seeking and grant implementation
• Work with the planning and implementation of major fund-raising events
