Logan County Historical Society Meeting
The Logan County Historical Society will start their Fall meetings again with a special meeting to show case the Lawrie Tannery at the Overland Trail Museum. The meeting will be September 17th which is a week later than the usual meeting day. This meeting will start in the High Plains Educational Center in the Overland Trail Museum at 7:00PM and will lead up to the Lawrie Tannery to allow viewing and questions. This project started more than 26 years ago when the Tannery was offered to the Historical Society and was moved to the second floor hay loft of the Karg Barn at the Overland Trail Museum. The Lawrie Tannery has recently installed additional interpretive signage. The Historical Society would like to celebrate this long term and rather unique project and recognize the help that has come from volunteers and businesses to make it possible. We would especially like to have those who helped with it to come and join us as well as anyone who is interested.
