SUMMARY:Growing Readers Together Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Sterling Public Library is offering a workshop for family members\, friends or neighbors who care for children under age 6.  This workshop will provide you with information and resources about early literacy and how you can help children in your care learn and grow.\n\n \n\nThe workshop will take place on Mar. 16th from 5:00 to 7:30 in the Community Room at Sterling Public Library.  We will have a light dinner at 5:00 pm and the workshop will begin at 5:30 pm.  Denise Ladd will demonstrate how to use the 5 early literacy practices of talk\, sing\, read\, write and play to help your children grow.  Registration is required as space is limited.\n\n \n\nSterling Public Library is a part of the statewide Growing Readers Together project.  The library program\, sparked by a grant from the Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation\, provides early literacy activities and resources for family\, friends and neighbors who care for children under the age of six.\n\n \n\nGrowing Readers Together is an opportunity for informal childcare providers to connect with others\, gain resources\, and learn the latest in early literacy tips and tricks to grow the children in their care into kindergarten-ready readers.\n\n \n\nFor more information about the workshops or to register\, call the library at 522-2023.
